Node.js

Node.js is an event-driven, server side software system based on Googles V8 Javascript engine. It designed to produce scalable web apps like web servers. Node programs sit on the server and allow asynchronous operations to happen without the need for another language like PHP. In short, you will only need one language to create a complex, dynamic web app.

To upgrade to a newer version in node.js

I found the easiest way was to install: n. n is great for Linux, not sure how well it works on Windows. You will have to try.

1
npm install -g n

Once installed, all you have to do is in the console, type n and the version number of node you wish to upgrade to, ie 0.10.12

1
n 0.10.12
